Every past daily chess puzzle is collected here, one per calendar day since the game launched. Each puzzle is a position taken from a real game, with a forced winning sequence hidden in it, and your job is to find every move of that line, not just the first one. Pick a date from the calendar and the board is set up exactly as it was that day.
How the archive works
The daily puzzle is the same position for every player, and solving it while the day is live is what counts toward your solved total and streak. Archive puzzles are free practice with no effect on either, so you can attempt a position again after failing it, or binge a month of tactics in one sitting without anything on the line.
Train pattern recognition
Tactical strength is mostly memory: forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks, back-rank mates and smothered mates repeat across games in endless variations, and solving puzzles is how those patterns move from conscious calculation to instant recognition. A steady diet of a few archive puzzles a day does more for practical play than an occasional marathon.
